Silent trapping and harvesting
« on: November 18, 2016, 10:00:20 AM »
We don't have a separate forum here for hunting, so I'm using the general discussion instead.

A short article on trapping, snares and fishing, all with the intent of being silent, or nearly so.

This may be important, depending on the situation in which you find yourself.

There are times when the sound of firearms discharge will be "counter-indicated"....

Note the recommendation to include snares in your BOB and knowing how to set them up.

I think this would be a good topic to practice on one of our campouts, as would the use of bows and crossbows.

Practice, Practice, Practice...

I have had good luck with Dakota Line snares, and would recommend them.

I also keep a gill net in my BOB as a last resort measure for procuring food.
