(Update 10/11/16) Being Observant

There have been other threads on this forum which address various methods of analyzing our current situation.

Specifically about how to recognize that a possible event for which we "prep" is eminent or already in process.

This multi-part article gives a good explanation, using military intelligence terms, and explains those terms for those who are not ex or present military.

The first part is oriented to observing your local community.  It uses the example of local gang activity, but I think you can easily apply the process to any community activity or group of community members.  Since our community has low gang activity, you may want to watch other things, for instance, local population trends, traffic patterns or consumer activity (that could be people-watching while shopping). 

The question to ask yourself is: "How well do I know my own community?"

I confess that my own community knowledge and view is VERY limited.  It is a case of "See No Evil, Speak No Evil, Hear No Evil".   
I need to be hit with the proverbial "two by four upside the head" before I pay attention.  I do not like that realization, but...

So, read this article (I will update this thread and this post as the other parts become available) and you are invited to contribute.  Perhaps not so much making-of-accusations as stating HOW you are observing your community and WHERE you find information about your community.

The intent is to learn how to be more observant of what is going on around us AND to have more eyes and ears on the situation.  Call it an early waning system for the group.
